Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Damanpreet Singh ("we", "us"), the individual who makes Habit Reboot (the "app"). Habit Reboot is a free personal project. It is not a business, and we don't sell anything. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the app. The app is offered in the United States.
2. Your account
Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Please give accurate information.
3. What the app is, and isn't
Habit Reboot is a tool for staying accountable to a habit you choose, for 10 weeks, alone or with a small crew. That is all it is.
- It is not a health, medical or monitoring app. It doesn't diagnose, treat, track or monitor any health condition, and it isn't medical, mental health, nutritional, fitness or addiction advice or treatment.
- It doesn't check anything. Everything in the app, including whether you "did it", is what you choose to record. The app doesn't verify it, and neither do we.
- You're responsible for your reboot. Choosing a habit that is safe and right for you, deciding how to pursue it, and using and tracking it in the app are entirely up to you. If a habit could affect your health, talk to a qualified professional first, and never start, stop or change a treatment because of the app.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or call 911.
4. Crews and being kind
Crews are private groups of up to 8 people. You agree not to use the app to harass, threaten, shame or impersonate anyone, to invite people who haven't asked to hear from you, to send spam, or to break the law. We may remove content, end a crew membership, or suspend an account that breaks these rules.
Invites last 7 days and can't be withdrawn once sent. Only invite people you know.
5. Your content
What you write (your habit, reflections, notes) stays yours. You let us store and display it only as needed to run the app, as described in our Privacy Policy, including showing your crew the limited information listed there.
6. Our app
We own the app, its design and its name. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, reverse-engineer, resell or interfere with it.
7. Free to use
Habit Reboot is free. There are no purchases, subscriptions, ads or donations in the app, and we don't accept payment for it.
8. Ending things
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me, then Delete account). It's locked straight away and erased after 30 days, as the Privacy Policy explains. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. We may also change, pause or stop the app at any time. If we stop it, we'll try to give you notice first.
9. No guarantees
We work hard to keep the app useful and available, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will produce any particular result for you.
10. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the app, and our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to US $50. You use the app at your own discretion and are responsible for your own decisions about your habits and health. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it, and is not responsible for any claims about it (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple for a refund of any purchase price; otherwise Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Please contact us first so we can try to sort out any problem informally. If we can't, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless you're eligible to bring the claim in small claims court where you live.
13. Changes
If we change these terms, we'll update the date above. For significant changes we'll also let you know by email or in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
